An intro flight is a great place to start. Your instructor will get the plane ready for takeoff and from that moment on you’ll be on the controls. You’ll fly over Indian Arm and Downtown Vancouver while getting a feel for flight instruction. After your intro flight we’ll get you started with the Ground School and you can start your regular flight lessons whenever you’re ready.

The various calculations that you’ll need to do are really quite easy. Flight computers and calculators will help you through the more complex tasks, and the simpler calculations might be done in you head as your’re flying along.

How long will it take me to get my license?
This varies based on how much time you’re able to commit to your studies. Our full time students have been able to complete their Private Pilot License in well under three months. Student pilots who fly more like once a week can expect to spend closer to a year obtaining their licence. Whatever your pace may be, we’re able to match it.
Regular flyer’s will see benefits in the way that they forget less in between lessons and are ready to move on to new material sooner than those who fly less often. On the other hand, those who spread their training over a longer period tend to be exposed to a wider variety of weather conditions and often end up with a deeper knowledge by the time they obtain their license.
What can I do with a private license once I’m finished?
The options are nearly endless. Many of our pilots continue to rent our aircraft and go to Chilliwack for breakfast or Pie, Tofino for a stroll along the beach, or into the mountains to discover breathtaking views. George bought a Piper Cub so that he could land right at his ranch near Fort St. John. Doug bought an Cirrus SR22 that he plans to fly to his property on the US West Coast or to his business on Vancouver Island. Will flew his Cessna 150 most of the way across Canada and returned through the Northern States. John continues to pursue greater ability in his Cirrus SR22 through completion of a Night Rating and an Instrument Rating.
